Update: Ecosystem Simulation Safari Now Supports Data Export!

#55
Hi everyone,
We have just released a major update to the Ecosystem Safari Simulator . It is no longer just a visual demonstration—it is now a fully functional quantitative research tool.
New Feature: CSV Data Export. At the end of every simulation run (whether you achieve stability or trigger a collapse), a new "Export Experiment Data" button will appear. This downloads a raw CSV file containing a day-by-day log of your entire session.
What the data includes:
  • Population Dynamics: Exact daily counts for Elephants, Lions, Zebras, and trees.
  • Policy Inputs: Tracks exactly when you moved sliders (e.g., Predation Rate) to correlate interventions with ecological responses.
  • Event Counters: Cumulative data on births, predations, and management culls.
This feature is designed specifically for educators and students. You can now import your simulation runs into Excel, R, or Python to graph Lotka-Volterra cycles, identify exact tipping points, and perform statistical analysis on your management strategies.
We have also released a comprehensive Technical Manual (available as a PDF download ), which explains the underlying algorithms ("the physics") of the model to help you design rigorous experiments.
Give it a try and let us know what you think.
